Importance:
The house and farm was previously owned by Mr. Elton Buell. Mr. Buell sold the house and property to Romolo Saglio in 1929 with the stipulation that Mr. Buell could keep operating a woodmill on the property. There was a Life Lease Agreement on the down stairs apartment for Mr. & Mrs. Buell. This unique arrangement remained for over thirty years with no problems. Mr. Saglio would operate the dairy farm. The woodmill made wooden file handles, crates for farmers produce and various wooden plugs. In 1943, a massive fire burned the mill to the ground. Many friends and neighbors came to pour water on the house to save that structure. A picture of the woodmill hangs in the farm house now. From 1930 to 1982, Mr. Saglio and his son Ronald operated the farm. There was a holstein herd of over 100 head that was noted throughout New England. The farm, still in use, is named Woodmill Farm to this day.

Notes:
"This center-chimney house of good proportions has a large extension and dignified entrance with pediment. A very notable item about this residence is the beautiful stonework, throughout. The house is placed high on a knoll and is surrounded by fine old trees, extensive lawns and plantings. A beautiful home."
